Someone should tell Sen Nelson to put away his shovel because he just digs himself deeper with every ad, interview and senate floor comments.

Here are some of the problems we have with his spin and I'm paraphrasing and the emphasis added is mine:

1.  Nelson implies that while he rolled up his sleeves the Republicans stonewalled.  Sen Johann's says "....I proposed several amendments....but only one received a floor vote...and it was rejected, along with virtually all Republican amendments.  Other amendments I offered addressed Medicare solvency, Medicaid fraud, limitations on flexible spending accounts and protecting critical access hospitals.".............(ALL REJECTED)

2.  Nelson says this bill will reduce healthcare costs, premiums and will not raise taxes and it will NOT fund abortion.  Sen Johanns says, "..the Administration's own experts on the impact of the Senate bill on health care costs,...showed the bill RAISES premiums, RAISES taxes, INCREASES overall health care costs and CUTS access to Medicare benefits....I gave an impassioned speech regarding my frustration over the Senate's WILLINGNESS to APPROVE FEDERAL FUNDING OF ABORTION for the first time in history." 3.  Nelson says that 9 out of 10 calls from Nebraskans were in SUPPORT of the bill.  - is that why Nebraskans have been protesting outside your Omaha office for the past five months..and continue to do so?   is that why you were boo'd out of a pizzeria a couple of weeks ago?   is that why there is an electronic billboard a couple of blocks from your office that reads "Harry, Thanks for the Bribe, Ben"?  is that why there is a "Bennochio" campaign?   is that why there is a nationwide petition circulating to have you RESIGN or REMOVED FROM OFFICE BY EXPULSION?

Nebraskans do NOT like being told that we are, in essence, either too stupid or ignorant to know what's good for us so he had to do the right thing for us......

All I can say to Americans across this country...Nebraskans would not spend hours in the freezing weather protesting or dressing up as rats trying to get a U.S. Senator removed unless we had darn good reason to - and we've seen every SPENDING bill shoved through in spite of our opposition.

The moral of the story to politicians is DO NOT IGNORE THE MAJORITY.......we do have the Removal by Expulsion option and it works just as well in Nebraska as it does in any other state.
